Artist Statement
The theme of my work lies in the daily life of my environment, what surrounds me, the people on the street, their light and the color that surrounds them ... people who inspire me, what is supposed to be clandestine and trivial and at the same time, universally diffused as unique. I try to capture instantly the essence of the model and roughly everything that catches my attention.
I always had a predilection for portraits, it inspires me to capture moments and transmit their feelings and emotions, with their own characters besides other emblematic personalities of music and arts. In all of them I try to work with a technique full of expression, great meaning and chromatic richness where color always has good stories to tell.
My artistic style is based on the figurative that I draw in formats (canvases) and recycled materials (such as agglomerated wood and zinc) of large size, which from a cluster or base of apparently abstract and random spots are painted with a spatula, brush or brush ... and they show up in their process things as lights, textures, volumes and shadows, which are giving indeterminate sub-forms, and authenticity to the work.

La temática de mi trabajo radica en lo cotidiano de mi entorno, lo que me rodea, la gente de la calle, su luz y el color que los envuelve… personas que me inspiran, lo que se supone clandestino y trivial y al mismo tiempo, lo difundido universalmente como único. Trato de capturar de forma instantánea la esencia del modelo y a grandes rasgos todo lo que llama mi atención.
Siempre tuve una predilección por los retratos, me inspira capturar momentos y miradas y trasmitir sus sentimientos y sus emociones, con personajes propios y otros emblemáticos de la música y las artes, en todos ellos procuro trabajarlos con una técnica llena de expresión, gran significado y riqueza cromática. Donde el color siempre tiene buenas historias que contar.
Mi estilo artístico se basa en lo figurativo plasmado en formatos (lienzos) y en materiales reciclados (como madera aglomerada y zinc) de gran tamaño, que a partir de un cúmulo o base de manchas aparentemente abstractas y aleatorias se van pintando con espátula, brocha o pincel... y van dejando aparecer en su proceso luces, texturas, volúmenes y sombras, que van dando sub formas indeterminadas, y autenticidad a la obra
Biography

Juan Carlos Ardenti He is a Venezuelan visual artist who currently resides in the United States, Ardenti has developed his artistic career in various national and international exhibitions and although he had a late start in contemporary art, his work has been praised and has received various awards and mentions in Salons and media, acquiring great notoriety for his pieces of high dramatic content and his recent work called "Desarraigo" inspired by Venezuelan migration.
Ardenti was born on February 19, 1974 in the city of Maracaibo, but a good part of his early adolescence was lived in a rural environment away from any opportunity to formally study art, however, from a very young age, he showed great skill in making portraits. At age 9, his mother gave him a book of drawings and portraits by Vincent Van Gogh and since then, portraits and color have been protagonists in his work. In 1986 he met and studied with the muralist master Gabriel Bracho in the house of culture of the Ports of Altagracia, at the age of 16 his family moved back to the city of Maracaibo initiating formal studies at the Neptalí Rincón de Escuela de Artes Plásticas. Maracaibo where he studied drawing, painting and screen printing, then studied Graphic design and industrial arts, obtaining a degree in pedagogy.

He recently worked as a teacher at the Julio Arraga School of Arts and Crafts in Maracaibo until for political and humanitarian reasons he had to leave his country and settle in the city of Houston, United States.

His work
In his work, large works stand out with a predilection for portrait painting where he uses a technique of wear and tear of the paint with thick strokes and gestural brushstrokes applied energetically on the canvas or wood, using wide chromatic palettes with intense contrasts of color. In his work, Ardenti re-interprets each model with his unmistakable line and style.
